[Case Study] Motion Analysis System Utilizing OptiTrack Cameras

Simultaneous motion capture of multiple people is possible with 8 cameras! A measurement space that does not distort the skeleton has been established.

When capturing the movements of large groups in sports or VR using motion capture, traditional cameras are said to require 30 to 40 units for measuring the movements of 5 people. In this case, by utilizing a motion capture system that uses OptiTrack cameras, it is possible to measure the movements of 5 people with just 8 cameras. Robust skeleton tracking can be achieved with a low implementation budget. [Challenges and Requests Before Implementation] - Depending on the cameras and software used, it is said that 30 to 40 cameras are recommended for measuring the movements of 5 people. - Implementing stable skeleton tracking requires a very high system implementation cost. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

3D Motion Analysis System "SKYCOM"

Improving the quality of experiments! Flexible system configuration for both clinical and biomechanics research.

"SKYCOM" is software that analyzes and evaluates data obtained from the motion capture system "OptiTrack." Using high-precision position coordinate data calculated by OptiTrack, various analyses can be performed in real-time. This real-time visualization improves the quality of experiments by preventing the need to redo experiments and allowing for checks of experimental conditions. Additionally, calibration is performed using a wand (calibration tool) that has been individually calibrated to the micron order, achieving an accuracy of 0.1mm or more. This accuracy has been validated with micron-order equipment. Furthermore, it is easy to compare and evaluate the two sets of acquired data. 【Features】 ■ Measurement possible in various environments, including confined spaces, outdoors, and underwater ■ Composite analysis possible with synchronized measurement data, such as correlation graphs of displacement and load ■ Real-time visualization *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Utilizing a Motion Analysis System for Diagnosing Children's Jaw in Pediatric Dentistry

Measurement results can be visualized with 3D images, graphs, and digital numbers! A space-saving measurement environment can be established.

Traditionally, we filmed children's mouth movements with a regular camera and considered ways to solve the issues. However, the conventional methods had limitations as they could not accurately measure mouth movements for each child and could not provide low-cost improvement proposals. Our "Motion Analysis System" attaches reflective markers to the areas of interest on the subject and measures the movement of the markers with a dedicated camera in accordance with the actions. The measurement results are visualized in 3D images, graphs, and digital numbers, making it very simple to convey feedback as it is just a matter of communicating what is seen. [Challenges and Requests Before Implementation] ■ Accurate information cannot be obtained from video observations alone. ■ The conventional methods have limitations as they cannot provide low-cost improvement proposals. *For more details, please refer to the PDF materials or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Improvement of Work Quality through Hand Movement Assessment during Picking Operations

Business improvements for preventing recurrence are possible! It captures the movements of the worker's hands in real time.

In the assembly and picking processes at manufacturing sites, issues such as human errors, variability in work, productivity, and work management are present. The "Two-Hand Mode" feature included in the 'Human Tracker' captures the movements of the worker's hands in real-time, allowing for the recording and judgment of movements and the areas entered and exited. In addition to being able to record where parts were taken from, it can notify the worker with colors or sounds when their hands enter the wrong area by integrating with lamps and speakers, thereby reducing work errors. [Challenges and Requests Before Implementation] ■ We want to manage hand operations, such as whether parts were taken from or placed in designated areas, to reduce variability and errors in human work. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Case Study] Full-body Data Capture of Dance through High-Precision Motion Analysis

Improve your skills with 3D visuals! It is possible to capture delicate movements in real-time with high precision.

Measurement devices capable of motion analysis may require the wearing of a full-body suit, which can impose a burden on areas other than the necessary analysis parts. To analyze the subtle movements of a tap dancer's feet, a "3D motion analysis system" was used, capturing movements with 12 cameras from the optical motion capture system "OptiTrack." The acquired data was analyzed using the analysis software "SKYCOM." Real-time analysis of delicate movements in sports and the ability to visually feedback the analysis results have received positive reviews. [Expectations for Motion Analysis in Sports Performance] ■ Measurement can be conducted on only part of the body without wearing a full-body suit. ■ Movements can be accurately digitized down to the tips of the toes. ■ As a result, exercise analysis data can be easily viewed visually. *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
